What our members say

“I have known Rupert for a number of years and I am extremely pleased to endorse CompleXCountries and the work he has done to develop it so far! I am particularly impressed by the value of the information exchanged by the members on the calls (all under the Chatham House Rule), and the professional and efficient manner in which the calls are managed! The calls I have participated in so far have been incredibly informative and relaxed. In today’s global society, information is key (as is Data), and CompleXCountries offers an invaluable tool to arm the Treasurer of today with what they need!”. Royston Da Costa, Assistant Group Treasurer, Ferguson plc, UK

Rupert and CompleXCountries has been a valuable source of information for me and my company. CompleXCountries is unique in that it allows treasury professionals to meet online and dynamically exchange information with others around the world about issues we all face when doing business in countries that have complex regulations, rules and restrictions. Reading articles has its place but the interaction with a diverse group is very valuable and has been a great teaching tool for me. I recommend this group to treasury professionals who are focused on future proofing their departments. Lee-Ann Perkins,  Assistant Treasurer, ION Geophysical, Houston, Texas

“I have been participating for some time in CompleXCountries sessions and have to say that the value our organization has got out of these has grown significantly over time. Rupert remains a tireless host of these sessions and strives on connecting treasury professionals, building a valuable network on specialized treasury topics and a flexible global forum of knowledge and best practice sharing in the complex treasury landscape we live in. Keep up the good work!” Savas Simatos, Director of Treasury at GE Renewable Energy, Amsterdam, The Netherland

“ I really like the format of the calls with small groups of relevant treasury practitioners to exchange ideas and discuss challenges & potential solutions. It enables you to build a network of experts to bounce ideas off and get valuable insight into how other corporates are managing activities in certain countries” Karen Van den Driessche, President ATEB, Association of Treasury Experts in Belgium

Having worked within Treasury for an international company for many  years I have learned that it’s important to connect to others to ensure you stay on top of what can be done and what cannot be done in the different countries your company is active. In that context CompleXCountries is a unique way to share and get valuable information that can help you make decisions in your role as a Treasury professional. You do not need to spend a lot of time traveling to meet with your peers – you simply connect online when there is a topic on the agenda that is relevant for you. I highly recommend this group to other treasury professionals. Palle Dedenroth, Assistant Treasurer, Danfoss A/S, Denmark

I joined several calls organized by CompleXCountries in 2019 and was very positively surprised about the ROI of time spent. Peers from various industries and different treasury models participated in the calls resulting in a fruitful discussion about specific topics and questions raised by participants. The likelihood to get an answer to a country specific question from one of the participating peers is very high and also the possibility of get connected after the call for a deep dive on specific topics exists. Florian Benda, Head of Treasury, Mabanaft, Germany

Why do I like your conference calls from CompleXCountries? It’s simple – I don’t know everything in the exotic places in the world and always learn something useful from other treasurers. Even for countries like Venezuela, we get ideas about the problems which could happen in similar oil–based economies with subsidized and artificial FX rates and how to mitigate them. I hope Complex Countries is here to stay and continues enlarging its audience and participants. Marin Katchamakov, Head of Treasury Operations, SGS, Geneva

The concept is great.  You get a good variety of people on the calls, the learning aspect is great. The difficulty with these countries is that they aren’t straightforward – there are no magic bullets – it’s important that the people taking part have views and share, involvement is important and you do that well. The summaries are very useful. Gerard Tuinenberg, Director Systems, Processes  & Transactional Banking, Unilever Treasury, Switzerland

Generally speaking the country by country format is extremely valuable.  The strength is that you always have at least one subject matter expert on the call – although the output varies depending on who is on the call, it works well.  The write ups are a premium service, even from calls that I couldn’t attend I have taken up ideas from the call reports. Kenny Nielsen, Senior Treasurer, FLSmidth, Copenhagen
